MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - Food or Pharmaceutical Packaging
Located in Alsip, IL
Permanent position
Salary range: 70k
Description:
Responsible for producing process and productivity improvements. Provide project management and manufacturing operational support as required. Develop scope of work, design specifications, cost estimates and projects schedules for capital projects and other process improvements
Essential Functions
Analyze trends in Production and Packaging operations. Look for opportunities and implement changes that will lead to continuous improvement.
Evaluate process efficiencies and recommend cost reductions and process improvements as needed
Function as a process engineering resource to Production and Packaging Departments
Develop scope of work, design, cost estimates and projects schedules for capital projects and other process
Obtain quotations for equipment and outside contracts for required projects.
Work with outside contractors for projects and maintenance activities as needed.
Assist in the compilation of data for environmental reports and permits for state and federal
agencies.
Function as a resource to the maintenance department for equipment repair and preventive
maintenance activities.
Work with Cost Accountant to evaluate product costs and update standard costs through time studies, etc.
Participate in TQM improvement and KI activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
BS in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical) is preferred.
Knowledge of industrial plant operations, process and project engineering
Five years of experience in a batch-manufacturing environment
Knowledge of FDA regulations is a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
