Position
Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician handles the facilities' troubleshooting, development of process/system improvements, preventive and predictive maintenance and contractor performance monitoring, as needed, for new equipment or process systems.
This position monitors and maintains the mechanical safety of the facilities.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Complete work orders with all required information and documentation of labor hours accurately Administer a wide variety of methods, procedures, and techniques to lay out, install, align, repair, overhaul and maintain various types of machines encompassing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and electrical systems and operation principles Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems to include disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment Support the company contractor management program Record repairs, maintenance, parts, and materials used, and order or requisition new parts and materials as necessary Handle boiler blow downs and record readings of critical operating parameters Communicate with management, engineers, and mechanics to advise them if there are any potential mechanical hazards Execute the maintenance work schedule as provided by management Inform management of all issues which may affect the operational capability of the facilities' processes and equipment Keep the facility clean and organized Maintain a clean project space during and at completion Other projects or duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Skills and
Experience:
High School Diploma/GED with 2 plus years of experience in general facility maintenance and repairs Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally Experience coordinating process improvement efforts Working knowledge of basic elements of Good Manufacturing Practices in a manufacturing environment Experience working with mechanical systems Experience working with electrical systems Experience working with a facility's utilities i.

, low, and high air compressors, chilled water systems (glycol), water filtration units to include Reverse Osmosis (RO) and/or waste treatment systems Proficient problem-solving skills with experience managing variables in standardized situations Proficient with using a computer and related software programs to execute assigned work orders Strong communication skills, both written and verbal This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test Preferred Skills and
Experience:
Vocational technical training Completion of a State or Federally recognized Apprenticeship Program Experience with maintenance and repair of HVAC systems Physical Demands and Work Environment:
